The Role of the Fuel Filter

December 10,2022

There are three types of fuel filters: diesel filters, gasoline filters and gas filters. The function of the fuel filter is to keep out particles, water and impurities in the fuel and to keep the precision parts of the fuel system free from wear and other damage.

What is the function of the fuel filter?

The fuel filter is in line with the line between the fuel pump and the throttle body inlet. The function of it is to remove solid impurities such as iron oxide and dust contained in the fuel. This will avoid blockage of the fuel system (especially the fuel nozzle). It also plays the role of shortening mechanical wear, ensuring stable operation of the engine and improving reliability.

The structure of the fuel burner consists of an aluminum shell and a stainless steel bracket inside. The bracket is equipped with high-efficiency filter paper, which is in the shape of chrysanthemum to increase the circulation area. Electric jet filters cannot be used with chemical oil filters. Because EFI filters are often subjected to 200 - 300KPA fuel pressure, most of the pressure strength of the filter needs to be above 500KPA, while the oil filter does not need such high pressure.
