How to Clean the Motorcycle Filter?

If the air filter is not cleaned for a long time, the motorcycle can still start running. It does not seem to affect the performance of the car on the surface. However, if there are too much dust and impurities absorbed by the filter element, the fuel consumption will increase, and the car will be weak. 

 

 

How to clean a dry air filter?

 

At present, most civilian motorcycles on the market use dry filter elements, and the materials of dry filter elements are generally filtered paper or non-woven fabrics.

 

1. Remove the filter element of the air filter, and remember the installation direction of the filter element when removing it.

 

2. Don't wet the filter element and vibrate it lightly. You can also use compressed air to blow from the inside to the outside to blow out the dust inside.

 

3. Use a brush to clean the external dust.

 

4. After cleaning, check whether the filter element is damaged. If there is damage, it can be repaired with adhesive. If the filter element is seriously damaged or cannot be cleaned, it should be replaced with a new one.

 

Remember that when the filter element is seriously damaged, it should be replaced with a new one in time (the market price is generally about 15 yuan).

 

How to clean wet air filters?

 

The wet filter element is made of sponge-like polyurethane material.

 

1. Loosen the screws of the air filter cover and remove the air filter cover.

 

2. Loosen the fixing hook of the filter element, remove the filter element and the support frame, and separate them.

 

3. Pour gasoline or cleaning agent into the cleaning basin, immerse the filter element in the cleaning solution and gently pinch to wash.

 

4. Squeeze the washed filter element with both palms, squeeze out all the dirty cleaning liquid, and do not twist the filter element by hand, so as not to twist the filter element. When cleaning, you should carefully check whether the filter element is broken or cracked. If there is damage, you should replace it with a new one.

 

5. If the filter element and the support frame are fixed together. You can soak it in the cleaning solution for 10-15 minutes, and then shake off the cleaning solution after taking it out.

 

6. Put a few drops of gasoline engine lubricating oil on the surface of the cleaned filter element to make it slightly oily and moist.

 

7. Wipe the air filter housing with a clean rag, then install the filter element on the support frame, and then install it in the reverse order of disassembly. The installation position is correct, otherwise, the air filter will not be able to filter.
